WER Architect/Planners Announces Three New Associates
WER Architects/Planners is pleased to announce that project architects Mason Ellis, AIA, LEED AP; Wesley Garrett, AIA; and James Meyer, AIA, LEED AP have all been made associates with the firm.
“Mason, Wes and James all bring unique talents and perspective to our team and clients,” said David Sargent, AIA, WER Architects/Planners CEO. “We are thrilled that they are moving into more of a leadership role at the firm as associates and look forward to the continued energy and passion they bring to the office and embed in their work on a daily basis.”
Mason joined WER in 2006 to gain experience in all aspects of the design process with a special interest in WER’s historic preservation work. Mason has been a vital employee on the many teams that he has worked on involving new construction, renovation and historic preservation. He has had many opportunities to advance his level of experience with projects that involve careful interpretation and technical recreation of historic buildings throughout the state of Arkansas as well as the design of new buildings within a contextual vocabulary. Mason is a board member of studioMAIN, president of Bicycle Advocacy of Central Arkansas and a member of the current Leadership Greater Little Rock class.
Wes joined WER in the summer of 2012. As an architect with 23 years experience, Wes brings a detailed approach to design and architecture. Having experience with diverse project “types,” Wes is as comfortable master-planning a medical office building as he is detailing a piece of millwork. One passion that Wes brings to WER is his desire to leverage technology in the design process. Expanding on WER’s strong foundation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Wes is adamant about distilling creative, hand-sketched design drawings and cultivating them into powerful computer generated, three-dimensional imagery both static and animated.
James joined WER in 2007 and has been using his hard work, dedication, and passion for architecture and placemaking, to make an impact on both his city and profession. Upon graduation, James was awarded a prestigious travelling fellowship from the Skidmore Owings and Merrill Foundation as part of an annual portfolio competition. James is committed to bringing that level of excellence to everything he does, and believes that every project must consider its role in the wider debate of our built environment. James was awarded the 2013 AIA Arkansas Emerging Professional Award, is a founding board member of studioMAIN, the Regional Associate Director of the AIA Gulf States, Architecture + Design Network board member and a graduate of Leadership Greater Little Rock.
