WER began working with the City of Tontitown on a Feasibility Study in advance of a Bond Issue in early 2021 to determine the appropriate amount of funding needed for new capital projects. The replacement of the existing Central Fire Station was a top priority for the City as its existing location was in poor condition and lacked needed amenities for the Fire Department.
WER was able to develop a program based upon the needs of the Department, and then use relevant cost data from the Northwest Arkansas area to provide the City with a range of costs that they should expect for construction and other costs such as the significant amount of equipment required in a new Fire Station. The residents of Tontitown overwhelmingly supported the new Fire Station project through the vote on the bond.
Even with the rapid inflation that occurred in 2022 the funding secured was adequate to construction a new state-of-the-art three bay central fire station for the department. In addition to the three bays the building provides space for training, administrative offices, bedrooms, common residential space, equipment, and a gym with roll-up door access to the outside.
