WER Architects/Planners Architect Receives AIA Designation

Little Rock, Arkansas (May 10, 2021) - WER Architects/Planners is pleased to announce that Brandon Bibby in our Little Rock Arkansas office, has received his AIA designation from the State of Arkansas and is now a registered architect. 

Brandon Bibby AIA, NOMA, NCARB joined WER Architects in 2014 as an intern architect and now serves as a project architect. In 2021, he joined the list of only nine other African American architects to hold an active license to practice architecture in the state of Arkansas. A native Arkansan, he received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas in 2014. An award-winning professional for his leadership and community engagement, he is a recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi Bronze Medal and was named to the Arkansas Business' 20 in their 20s New Influential 2019 Class.

Since joining WER, Brandon has worked on a mix of project types, from historic preservation to adaptive reuse and new construction. His diverse portfolio includes design, programming, and project management on over 100 arts, educational, commercial, and healthcare projects. His experience includes work for clients such as eStem Public Charter Schools, Baptist Health Medical Center, and the University of Arkansas. Notable projects include the eStem Public Charter Schools East Village Elementary and Junior High School, the Windgate Center of Art + Design at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and the new Windgate Center for Fine and Performing Arts at the University of Central Arkansas that is scheduled to open in 2022.

Brandon embodies the citizen architect movement and advocates for quality design and spaces through his active community engagement. In 2018, Brandon served as Co-Chair for PopUp in the Rock Stifft Station, which demonstrated a new vision for a pedestrian-safe commercial corridor in the historic Little Rock neighborhood at the intersection of Markham Street and Kavanaugh Boulevard. And in 2020, Brandon spearhead the Building Momentum mentorship program at WER Architects. This outreach program is reaching underrepresented minorities in the architecture and interior design field through their high school counselors.
