UALR Trojan Grill is First LEED Registered Retail Space in Arkansas
The Trojan Grill on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus, has received LEED Silver certification. Trojan Grill is the first LEED registered retail space in Arkansas.
The Trojan Grill is a casual, college dining facility, conveniently located adjacent to student housing. Situated along a major pedestrian path, the Grill provides views and connectivity to the campus greenbelt and trail system. The indoor dining area is scaled to comfortably seat 100 diners and features a fireplace, a glass curtain wall facing the view, and an overhanging roof that offers solar screening and a defined connection from ground to roof. An outdoor dining area is adjacent, and also provides a comfortable, casual place to gather during pleasant weather.
The full-service kitchen gleams with stainless steel, reminiscent of a classic diner, and is equipped with all the latest equipment. The Grill has achieved LEED Silver certification, the first LEED retail building in the state, and promotes sustainability teaching moments in terms of composting or diverting waste, low flow fixtures, high-efficiency lighting and renewable/recycled materials usage.
