WER Architects/Planners is pleased to announce that architect, James Swann, AIA, has been named as an Associate at the firm.

“James has been an integral part of the WER design team for the last three years,” said David Sargent, AIA, WER Architects/Planners CEO. “We are thrilled that he is moving into an official leadership role at the firm and look forward to the continued energy, passion and creativity he brings to the office and embeds in his work on a daily basis.”

James joined the WER team in the summer of 2015. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Fay Jones School of Architecture at the University of Arkansas. While at the university, James participated in the UARK Design Build Program, constructing two modular houses in Central Arkansas. These two innovative designs have been a key part of the Downtown Little Rock Community Development Corporation’s attempt to revitalize the Pettaway Park neighborhood, and both have received Arkansas AIA awards. Shortly after graduating, James moved to Chicago to start his architecture career, spending four years at a firm that focused on high-end modern and traditional residences north of Chicago, before returning to Arkansas to join the WER team. Since joining WER, James has worked on a variety of project types including K-12, higher education, athletic venues, commercial and data centers.
