Arkansas State University-Beebe England Center

Beebe, Arkansas

For the past 50 years the England Center has served the ASU Beebe Campus as a math and science building. After completion of a new science building – designed by WER Architects/Planners – the building was vacated to make space for the Fine Arts classrooms and studios that were housed in cramped quarters elsewhere on campus. The building underwent a full renovation to provide state-of-the-art, handicap accessible facilities for students studying painting, drawing, ceramics, computer drawing and graphics – as well as add a new gallery space to display works in a projected secured location. An outdoor kiln and studio space was incorporated into the ceramics studio to enhance the opportunities for students to broaden their level of creativity. This project was awarded an ASID Excellence in Design Bronze Award.
