Arkansas Department of Emergency Management

Camp Robinson, Little Rock, Arkansas

With Staikos and Associates

WER Architects designed and built the new Arkansas Department of Emergency Management 40,000 square foot headquarters in the heart of Camp Robinson, North Little Rock, home to the Arkansas National Guard. The new structure, hardened against impact and roughly twice the size of the previous center near Conway, houses a command center, training rooms and administrative offices on two floors. The Emergency Operations Center is equipped with the most advanced telecommunications equipment available and operates independent of external utilities for an extended period of time. The project was awarded a McGraw Hill South Central Construction Award of Merit for a public building and an ASID Excellence in Design Silver Award.
